Money sent but cant find it on chain..

Hi everyone, somebody sent me usdt from binance to a wallet. they stated they despatched the cash (gave me a accomplished screenshot but didnt really pay attention to the txid) however on the fallacious handle but even at the mistaken tackle i can't see the transaction or the stability on chain.. I did not save the txid which i know stupid me…. but when i checked the pockets stability and i checked on bscscan or etherscan i can't find the money even at the incorrect tackle.. do you assume they really sent it? or they by no means despatched it but just stated its the incorrect handle? i've checked all sort of chains… i can't contact the individual now to ask for a txid..
