Let's hypothetically say you have a million dollars worth of Bitcoin that you want to sell for fiat and cash out to a brokerage account. I have heard horror stories of people trying to make transactions like this (or for much less) and Coinbase or other exchanges immediately flagging it for suspiciousness with an unblock & fix taking upwards of a year.
What would be your strategy to avoid any concerns? Contact a lawyer first and have them reach out to the exchange? Reach out to the exchange yourself ahead of time to give them a heads up on the trade? Full send with zero worry?
What amount would be 'too much' for you to start worrying? $10k? $100k? $100k to Coinbase is chump change given their liquidity but what if you bought in 2010 and now have over a billion dollars?
